Batman Beyond: Year One, a fan-made superhero film released in 2024, was written, co-produced, and directed by Michael Yu. It draws from the animated series *Batman Beyond* and features Ryan Potter as Terry McGinnis, the new Batman. Other cast members include Isabelle Hahn, Fiona Dorn, Justin Vancho, and Koki Tomlinson.
The story follows high schooler Terry McGinnis as he juggles fighting crime and starting new relationships in a futuristic Neo Gotham City, all under the guidance of a retired Bruce Wayne.
Ryan Potter, who played Gar Logan in the series *Titans*, was cast as Terry in December 2023. Additional roles were announced at Los Angeles Comic Con in October 2024, including Isabelle Hahn as Melanie Walker, Fiona Dorn as Dottie, Justin Vancho as Spike, and Koki Tomlinson as Jack Walker. The plot takes inspiration from the show’s pilot episode. An uncredited Roger Craig Smith, who had voiced Bruce Wayne in other projects, provides the character’s voice.
The project was funded through an Indiegogo campaign and made its debut on YouTube on November 16, 2024.
